After many years in the corporate, government and private sectors as a business manager, the girl from Gular was a tad burnt out so she did what most creative girls do, studied Fine Arts. The rest is creative history! Her studies catapulted her into the age of digital imaging and she was hooked, line and absolute sinker. The funny thing is that at the age of 15 she had already dabbled in the photography and design world, producing, developing and experimenting with film photography in an old school makeshift dark room. Now some 30 years on, give or take a few years, Jenet Stewart, the girl from Gular, Founder and Director of the now well known Imajenit brand has discovered her passion and spends life creating visually pleasing imagery and designs at Imajenit Commercial Photography and Design.
In 2006, she joined a regional newspaper as one of their key photographers and soon became an efficient features writer for their many advertising clients. Her passion for writing excelled, she loved nothing more than writing about the wonderful people of regional Australia.
In 2009, Jenet left the newspaper and registered her new business, Imajenit Commercial Photography and Design. She soon found freelance writing and photography work with the national magazine R.M. Williams Outback which on the very odd occasion, she still writes and photographs for today. Her commercial photography and design business grew at a rapid rate and while her writing took a back seat. Her life long dream of becoming a full time photographer and designer was a reality.
Jenet has photographed extensively throughout regional Australia and has photographed celebrities including Lisa McCune, Damien Leith, Thirsty Merc, Kerry O'Brien, James Reyne and many more.
Her style of photography and design is used everyday by businesses whether their marketing collateral is with print media, television or the web.
She is an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and the Australian Media and Commercial Photographers group. She is the winner of the 2014 Chamber of Commerce Presentation and Marketing Business award and has been a finalist in the Business Awards for the past 3 years. She is one of the official judges of the International Macquarie Photography Prize, Nominee 2013, 2014 and 2015 Black and White Spider Awards and still finds time to study in pursuit of another life long dream, to share her knowledge with the many creative and dedicated photography and design students of regional NSW.
